Thun

The majority of the old town of Thun originated in the 12th century, when Berchtold V of Zähringen built the Thun Castle and expanded the city by today's upper main street. The unique high rottoirs, which mark the upper main street, are worth a visit just because of their architectural peculiarity. Beautiful boutiques, trendy shops, fine shops and trendy bars invite you to browse, stroll and linger.

Castles around Lake Thun

Magnificent castles with spacious parks characterize the unique region of Lake Thun. The lords of the castle have chosen the preferred location on Lake Thun with the fantastic view of the Bernese Alps for their headquarters.

Bern

The UNESCO World Heritage Old Town of Bern is surrounded by the "Aarenschlaufe" and enjoys the view of the stunning alpine panorama. The romantic capital owes its charm to the cohesive cityscape. 6 km of arcades, Renaissance figurine fountains, the cathedral, largely preserved sandstone facades and a unique rooftop landscape characterise the city of Bern, founded in 1191, which is one of the most magnificent examples of medieval urban planning in Europe.

Lucerne

Lucerne is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is rich in attractions. In addition to the world-famous Chapel Bridge and the Water Tower, the Musegg Wall, the Jesuit Church, the Spreuer Bridge, the Lion Monument, the Culture and Congress Centre Lucerne (KKL) and many other buildings contribute to the impressive cityscape of Lucerne. Lucerne is best discovered on foot.

Open-air museum Ballenberg

More than 100 original, centuries-old buildings from all parts of Switzerland, original gardens, fields and native farm animals make the past on the "Bal­len­berg" a unique experience. Visit the impressive "Giessbach" falls on Lake Bri­enzer. In the afternoon, there is the opportunity for a marvelous carriage ride through the open­air museum or a Mini Olympiad with several tradi­tional sports.

Segway tours in Interlaken

Discover the federal capital Bern, the city of the Alps Thun or the highest city on the "Aare Unterseen / Interlaken" - with the SEGWAY Personal Transporter. Glide on the self-balancing, single-axle vehicle through the quaint old town streets and over field to magnificent vantage points.

Beatus Caves

The St. Beatus Caves are one of the most popular excursion destinations on Lake Thun. A beautiful walk leads from the parking lot through the forest up to the cave entrance. It crosses the waterfall tumbling out of the cave with several bridges. About 14 kilometers of the extensive cave system have been explored to date. Of these, 1 kilometer is easily accessible thanks to electric lighting and secured paths.

Pedaling with a view of the Bernese Oberland

The gondola lift comfortably brings you from "Beatenberg" to the middle station "Vorsass", the starting point of the pedal scooter experience.

• Pedaling on the "Direttissima" route
  For the 6 km short, fast track you need between 20 and 30 minutes. The route leads from Vorsass on a direct path to the Beatenberg valley station. The first section is on a natural road in the forest. The second section is a tarred road.

• Pedaling on the route "Flanierama" (comfortable)
  The more leisurely route takes 40 - 60 minutes. This route is rather flat and leads on a natural road to Bodenalp. There the road branches off. The second section from Bodenalp to Rischerental is also a natural road in the forest. On the third section, the route leads through Beatenberg - the longest village in Europe - back to the Beatenberg train station.

Rope park

Balance, whiz, climb or jump through the treetops! In the rope park Interlaken 9 courses with different levels of difficulty and over 120 varied tasks are waiting for you. From the stable beginner's course near the ground to crunchy tasks at a height of 20 meters, there is something for everyone - whether little adventurers, adrenaline junkies from all over the world or the whole family.

Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe

The highlight of every trip to Switzerland is the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe. Europe's highest train station is 3454 meters above sea level. Visitors are treated to a high-alpine wonderland of ice, snow and rock, which they can admire from viewing platforms, on the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. The train ride to the Jungfraujoch, which passes through the "Eiger" and the "Mönch", is also an experience. At the intermediate stations "Eismeer" and "Eigerwand" visitors can enjoy the wonderful view.

The SIRIUS Astronomy Center in Schwanden or Sigriswil offers exciting views of the starry sky of the Bernese Oberland.
